RelevantKnowledge is a division of comScore, Inc., one of the nation’s largest Internet research firms, boasting more than 2 million members worldwide. Our goal is to help industry understand digital content trends and patterns. Just as the television industry uses rating services to determine which are the most watched programs - and to affect the shows and commercials that air – businesses and media organizations rely on research reports from communities like RelevantKnowledge to understand how people view and interact with content on the Internet and on TV, and make informed decisions on their online marketing strategy. Because of this reliance, RelevantKnowledge panelists can have an impact on the information and services that are available both online and offline, and the manner in which that information and those services are presented.
Participating members are asked to install RelevantKnowlege research software on their computers. This software, which is easily installed and removed, collects data that allows RelevantKnowledge to indentify Internet trends and behavior for the household. Additionally, members are invited to take part in online surveys. The optional surveys are designed to help companies understand members’ attitudes and interests on a wide variety of topics.
We also ask that you authorize us to collect information about your TV viewing habits (including data such as the channels and programs you watch and record and the on-demand programming you order) directly from your TV service provider on your behalf. We will use this information, together with the other information we collect about our panelists to further enhance our understanding of how members use and interact with these services.
Member Internet usage information and survey results will be used together with information from millions of other research panel members to create research reports on Internet trends and e-commerce activities. These results are regularly quoted by leading news organizations such as MSNBC, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Fox News, etc.
RelevantKnowledge conducts market research using methods that uphold stringent privacy standards. We are part of comScore, a highly regarded leader in the privacy area. Our research reports NEVER contain your personally identifiable information. Our reports provide analyses on commercial trends that help a wide variety of companies decide how to (i) modify their online services and offerings; (ii) make more effective use of online data to understand both online and offline consumer behavior; and (iii) discern general economic trends and the business performance of companies.
